No More Room in Hell 2 is available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Both console versions launched on 11 August 2026, the same day as the 1.0 update on PC, so there is no waiting period and no timed exclusivity to worry about. The game is developed and published by Torn Banner Studios.
What you get on console
- Crossplay with PC. The Xbox store page explicitly lists cross-platform co-op, and the Steam page carries the matching Cross-Platform Multiplayer tag. Your console squad can include PC players.
- Xbox Series X|S only. There is no Xbox One version.
- The same game as PC 1.0. Console did not launch on an older build; it arrived with the Armageddon 1.0 update.
The player base is large enough that matchmaking is not a concern: the studio reported over 1 million players across PC and console, with 500,000 of those arriving after 1.0.
The controller problem
This is the honest part, and it is the reason to read this page rather than a store listing.
Players consistently report that the controller feel is clumsy, and the specific culprit is the default deadzone settings, which are poor and cannot be adjusted. There is no in-game slider to work around it.
That complaint is not just a community grumble — it has independent backing from the press. CGMagazine's 1.0 review scored the game 75 and singled out exactly this split: keyboard and mouse on PC is good, the controller is not. Their line was that 1.0 should have meant the training wheels came off, and on controller they are still firmly attached.
What the studio has committed to
The developer blog commits the September update to controller support work, specifically improving deadzones, alongside improvements to UI menu navigation.
That combination — players complaining, the press confirming it independently, and the developer publicly accepting it with a date — is about the clearest signal you can get that the problem is real and being worked on. If controller feel is your deciding factor, September is the checkpoint.
Known console-specific issues
- Solo Mode supply drops do not spawn on Beginner difficulty on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. This is an officially acknowledged issue, and it was listed for repair in the second hotfix.
- Xbox Series S crashes. The second hotfix was aimed at memory usage specifically to help lower-spec machines and the Series S.
- Squad deployment errors on PS5. Players report failures when unticking "fill squad" to run a closed group, and cases where an invited player is not registered into the squad before it dissolves.
Will my machine run it?
Beyond the two consoles, two more platform certifications are worth knowing:
- Steam Machine — Verified
- Steam Deck — Playable
Playable rather than Verified means it runs but expect some friction, typically text size or input prompts rather than performance.
Should you buy it on console?
If you want to play with PC friends, crossplay works and that side is settled. The reservation is input feel. Everything about aiming and melee timing runs through a controller whose deadzones you cannot currently tune, and both players and a reviewing outlet independently flagged it. The studio has committed to fixing it in September rather than someday. Buy now if you can live with it until then, or wait for the September update and check again.
